Fountain Information

Is your fountain not working?

Is your fountain nozzle not working?

Fountain nozzles don't work for several reasons.

Is the pump actually running? This is the most common cause, in that the pump is not actually switched on (Yes it really does happen) It may also be a protective device such as an RCD has tripped.

Is the nozzle blocked? If the nozzle has small holes these can sometimes get blocked, or the pump inlet may be blocked, this rarely happens in fountains, because fountain have no plants fish etc, ponds do.

Is the pump outlet actually open / open enough? We had one problem where the pump outlet was turned to close, a simple twist and the fountain was running.

Is the nozzle open? some nozzles have a variable flow device built in, is this open?

Is the pipe diameter big / long enough? If you are installing a remote pump the number of bends and pipe length as well as pipe diameter will affect the nozzle. The pipe run should be as short as possible, with as few bends as possible

Manifold, is the nozzle connected to a manifold? has the pipe become damaged or a connection come apart

Is the pump the right size? see our page here
