Fountain / feature pump myths

Pump myths is a collection of miss information we have found about  pumps

Submersible pumps often need seals replaced as they wear out easy with the constant water exposure, broken seals can cause a release of gas that can harm pond fish and they cost more to buy than surface pumps.

Really? what is this gas and where does it come from? And how does a submersible pump cost more than a surface pump? Both "facts" are completely wrong.

Most small submersible pumps have the electrical side sealed in resin, so there is nowhere for any "gas" to hide. Cost, see for yourself.

Some of the larger pumps do / did have oil, but most pump manufacturers have gone away from this idea.

Often, a project is never completed because of the unexpected costs. Folk do not always want to hear the truth.
