Fountain questions - 3 "Please supply information on single jet garden fountain to height of approx 15 feet. Cost of pump, jet and suitable sump lining and any other costs for DIY installation. Also information on running costs." If only it was that easy. There is more to designing a fountain than it looks. Jet height As this fountain is to be 15 feet we first have to ask is there room for a 30 feet diameter pool. (In essence you have to have a pool twice as wide as the jet is high. Please see the J W rule for more information. Which jet Next question is which jet would you like? There are quite a few nozzles which fall into this category, although the most common is a komet nozzle. See our components , nozzle page for nozzle choices (Link at bottom of page) The Pump The height has been chosen, but the nozzle has not, the nozzle chosen determines which pump should be used, in some cases a 3 phase pump will be required to reach the jet height, but as this is for a garden, most homes do not have 3 phase. Budget Often people ask for things like this, then abandon the idea when they find out the cost. As a rule of thumb the higher, or the more items required in the fountain the more it will cost. We did ask a some questions, but we never heard any more.

Changing colours is "easy", you need to have multicoloured lights (Be they LED or Incandescent) Changing a fountain's pattern can only be done by changing the nozzle, or having multiple nozzles. (It worked fine with my garden hose) The pump's maximum head height is too low. All pumps have a maximum head height. If the top of the water feature or its main out let is higher than the maximum head, the pump can not pump to the height of the feature you have built.
