Rotating ball water feature

Rotating ball feature, how it works

You have seen a rotating granite ball here is a way for you to install a small rotating  ball feature

First a standard water tank is installed to act as a sump, pump, pipe and grille added. Water was added at this stage to give the tank more weight.
The ball base is then added along with supports (they are under the base) Silicone sealant is then added to fill the small gap between pipe and inlet orifice.
Ball and decorative material added then switched on, sit back and enjoy
Drawing of how it is done, note the pump is off set to allow for easy pump servicing. This set up applies to any size of ball

This ball is hand made, and solid granite, the £1,000 price tag soon put people off. (Any one want to guess how much a 1m diameter ball used to cost?)

The bigger balls are installed in a similar way, except the sump is obviously not a plastic water storage tank. They are rotated by the water pressure and its direction, the water actually lifts the ball in its socket which is how come you can push them by hand. If the socket is deep (depending on manufacturer) then these will require a bigger pump.

Often, a project is never completed because of the unexpected costs. Folk do not always want to hear the truth.
